Grace A. Gaabucayan, JD, CTFA

Senior Wealth Counselor

At Versant Capital Management, I counsel clients and develop solutions for their individual and family financial situations. By drawing on my estate and tax planning background, I collaborate with our client teams to build strategies for the families we serve. In that process, I can help people understand why they’re making the decisions they make (behavioral finance) and align their financial strategies with life choices to help them achieve their financial goals. I was excited to join Versant Capital Management, a woman-led firm, as I am particularly interested in helping women gain financial empowerment and thrive.

Before I joined Versant in 2022, I was a Wealth Advisor at First Western Trust and a Trust Advisor, then an Associate Wealth Strategist at Northern Trust. I created and implemented financial plans in those roles, led business development efforts, and supported the aspects of personal trust client relationships.

As National Account Director at John Hancock in Boston, I helped increase the company’s market share within top client accounts, facilitated relationships across distribution channels, and developed training programs about life insurance solutions to estate and business plans.

I earned a Juris Doctor specializing in Business Law and Financial Services from Suffolk University Law School in Boston and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. I enjoy being active in both institutions’ alumni associations.

Community involvement has always been important to me. I’m currently a Partner of the Phoenix chapter of Social Venture Partners. I’ve served as the President of the Phoenix Symphony Young Professionals, the Finance VP, and Treasurer of The Junior League of Phoenix. I’m active in the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council and the Association for Corporate Growth.

After years on the east coast, I moved back to Phoenix in 2011. In my free time, I can be found adventuring in the wilderness with my husband and toddler son or sitting on the couch with my pup, listening to audiobooks and knitting.
