A Certified Financial Planner™ and Master of Counseling, Kathie Barnes is a seasoned veteran of the wealth management profession. She and her husband Stephen Barnes, CFA® CFP® founded Barnes Investment Advisory, Inc. in 1989, a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA), which successfully served clients for three decades. In 2017, Kathie transitioned with her clients to Versant Capital Management after Stephen suffered a serious illness.
Kathie’s focus areas are on retirement planning, legacy planning, and financial literacy. She is a cheerleader for women and their money. She is the author of Feminine Finance™, a program dedicated to empowering women by increasing their financial awareness, skills, and confidence. Because of her expertise, Kathie has been involved in several media ventures. She was a writer for “The Women’s Investment Center,” a website launched by CNBC, and was tapped by FOX 10 Phoenix to provide fifty weeks of financial advice on their morning news show, “Arizona Morning.” She also was co-designer of a semester-long financial literacy program for Xavier College Preparatory, an all-girls school in Phoenix.
Over the years, Kathie has taken leadership roles in multiple professional and community organizations. She is currently on the Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits for the United Methodist Church. She is also an active member of the Central Arizona Estate Planning Council., Valley Estate Planners, the Financial Planning Association of Greater Phoenix, and has led seven Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University courses with Stephen.
Kathie holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Counseling from Arizona State University. She and Stephen have one daughter, Stephanie, who is a reporter for WGRZ TV in Buffalo, NY.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
