Tyler has always been intellectually curious and passionate about thinking independently. An advocate of learning with an interest in trends from all industries, he chose to attend Stanford University, studying Energy Resources Engineering to better understand how the energy landscape can be expected to change in his lifetime. Following graduation, Tyler was employed as a Petroleum Engineer for Berexco, a private, independent oil and gas company, where he evaluated the economics of the firm’s exploration and development plans, managed environmental liability, and oversaw and executed field completions, drilling, and operations.
As a Research Analyst at Versant Capital Management, Tyler is adept at making financial and technology problems understandable for all levels. His focus is on creating technology tools to provide insights and clarity, and to think creatively to make technology a catalyst for organic growth for the firm. Working alongside Versant’s Manager of Investment Technologies & Operations, Tyler builds useful technology that is accessible to all functional groups within the firm, and ensures we are using it in the most cost-effective manner possible.
Tyler was born in Minnesota and grew up in Park City, Utah where he developed a passion for outdoor activities at a young age. During his downtime, you’ll most likely find him on skis or a mountain bike. His love of the outdoors led him to discover and support Qhubeka, a South African non-profit organization that donates bicycles to children to attend school and adults to get to work. Tyler is currently working towards an MBA in Finance from the University of Colorado.
